The Weekenders is pretty much about 4 best friends living for the weekend. Doug Langdale is a genius for creating this great cartoon for Disney. It is simply the best Disney cartoon series has came out with in a long time. It's a shame that Disney discontinued it late in 2001. They didn't even have a chance to make merchandise for this show.
At first, I thought this was an awful cartoon when I saw it in 2000. I was about 15 or 16 at the time and I just thought it was really lame. A couple of years later, I watched it again. I didn't know it at the time, but ABC was going to pull the show off their lineup of shows. I would of never seen this show again if I never got satellite. I did get satellite and I found the channel it was on.
This is probably the most realistic cartoon of all time, in my opinion. The episodes deal with some things that kids can relate to. Even though I wasn't really a kid after I watched it, I thought it was a funny cartoon. I sort of related to some of the things that were on the episodes when I was a kid.
Well, it's really too bad that this cartoon didn't make it that far. They never even made that much off this cartoon. Oh well, I guess kids these days want to watch stupid mindless cartoons like Yu-Gi-Oh. I remember it beat Pokemon in the ratings at one point. Anyway, this cartoon is possibly the best cartoon of all time. For those who want to compare this to Recess, you can't really compare them together. Yes, there may be some similarities, but the Weekenders is the better cartoon.

"The Weekenders" is a very good show. I first started watching it when it began back on Disney's One Saturday Morning. It's funny, realistic, and I also like the fact that the main characters change their close each day. The characters are: Tino the narrator, Lor the tomboy, Carver the athlete, and Tish the genius/artistic one. My favorite characters are Tino and Lor. My other favorite characters are: Lor's brothers, the really tall girl (I can't remember her name), and Tino's mom (she gives good advice).
My favorite episode is Home@work (that was hysterical when Tish and Carver were choosing "temporary friends"). Weekenders is a really good show(10/10 stars) and I still watch on Toon Disney.

It has been amusing reading people comments on this show. I found them to be quite varied and critical, which i honestly didn't expect.
I love this show. However, i am slightly biased, as the only reason i watched it is because of Jason Marsden a.k.a Tino Tonitini. Now that i have watched it i can say that i would watch it even without Jason, without lying. Sometimes it can be a bit sickly sweet, but i think this is balanced out beautifully by the jokes and the characters' undesirable traits. Yes, Tino, Carver, Tish and Lor do seem to be too smart alec(y) and knowledgeable to be 12, yet my 11 yr old brother loves the show, and often laughs at jokes that i would never have thought he'd get. I think sometimes us older people don't remember what it's like to be a kid, and what we found amusing. It's okay to look back and say something is trite and conceited. But as a kid... do you really care? Who were the audiences of 'Full House' do you think? I believe "The Weekenders" is good for kids because it does have all those 'moral' little stories. P.S...i love Tino's ending word at the end of each episode. It's often where his funniest jokes are. And also... can IMDb change "Tino Tontini" to "Tino Tonitini" please???

For a kid's cartoon this is a total spin. It is not a half-hour of slapstick and spit jokes, instead it is a group of friends who live for the weekend. This has replaced the first episode of Pokemon (8:30AM slot) for me (well, the first episode of Pokemon is always a rerun anyways).
I am 22 years old and looking back at my youth I can see everything I missed by growing up. If I had a group of friends like Lor, Carver, Tish and Tino I would of been the luckiest kid on earth.
They eat Chili-Cheese fries, go to museums and play video games. What else to say? It teaches values and has fun with it. I love this show and I think it deserves a 10/10 for the effort. I pray for syndication!
If you haven't seen the show yet, take the chance and actually watch it. Don't watch it because I said so, watch it because it is youth at its best. Maybe you just have to be a 'grown-up' to truely appreciate it?

This is a great Disney Cartoon that follows the tale of four pre-teen friends during the weekend:
Tino - The protagonist who pulls some "Malcolm In The Middle" style narrartion and confides in his mom about troubles in paradise.
Carver - The other male in the group, a black boy with tons of style and somewhat of a big head (egotistical I mean).
Lor - The tomboy who loves to be the boss but can get totally giddy at times, and has about 10 brothers.
Tish - The german import genius girl who is obsessed with taking notes and learning, yet isn't always the smartest as she lives in a dreamworld of some sort.
While the show isn't necessairly groundbreaking, the acting is remarkable, the characters are lovable, and the plot lines are downright entertaining.

Tino: Want me to leave so you can say bad words?
Tino's Mom: Yeah that would be nice...
