Leon is mistaken for a burlesque king!

In the 1930s, 40s and 50s, Leon Errol made a long string of comedy shorts. They are generally enjoyable and involve Leon and his less than friendly wife. In so many cases, he ends up getting on her bad side...mostly because of his own stupid actions!

In "Girls! Girls! Girls!", Leon is trying to arrange for some fan dancers to come perform for his lodge. He ends up paying the girls' manager for this...and the manager is promptly arrested in a police raid. He tells the cops that Leon bought the act...and HE is responsible for the lewd show. So what's next? Well, Leon is on the run...with cops on his heels.

In addition to Dorothy Granger reprising her role as Mrs. Errol, Charlie Hall (of Laurel & Hardy film fame) and Tom Kennedy (a very familiar character actor) are on hand as well. Together, they make an enjoyable film that is clever and funny...though certainly NOT hilariously so. Worth your time in order to see how Leon will try to weasel out of this one!

    Who's Pinching Who?

Leon Errol goes to the local burlesque house to rent ..... that is hire fan dancer Claire Carleton for a show at the lodge. Through the usual mix-up that occurs in comedy shorts, dumb cop Tom Kennedy is at the show to close it down, including the owner, for whom Leon is mistaken.

This is one of those funny shorts in which Leon spends much time, energy and confused bluster in not explaining matters to wife Dorothy Granger. Those movie buffs who are fond of Laurel & Hardy will find their old nemesis, Charlie Hall, on site as a waiter to take some well timed pratfalls. Gall was born in 1899 in Birmingham, England, and like Chaplin, Laurel, Will Hay and seemingly half of all silent film comics, came out of the Fred Karno troupe in England (the other half seems to have been part of the Pollard troupe in Australia). He made his screen debut in 1921, and by the time he died in 1959, had appeared in more than 100 features and twice as many short subjects.
