Touchy movie

North Indian living in Tamil Nadu. Strange events. Typical attitude of people living around in that kind of lower middle class house. Their dialog is very natural. Plot was very well done. If you don't know the end, you will enjoy all events in the movie.

Mahendran's touch can be felt through out the movie. Ilayaraja's music was very supportive. Allithantha Boomi song always takes me to my home town, where I left before this movie was released. For all those who left their home town, this song will get you back there.

Aswini's performance was wonderful. Worth watching.

I strongly recommend this movie.

Mixed feelings

Mahendran began slipping after his initial classics. This film is one of his efforts that goes awry soon. The characters are not as strongly etched as those in earlier films. Ilayaraja saves the day with a stunning score. Truly disappointing.

Good realistic cinema

A good story. Sir Mahendran films always reflects reality, in that way this film also one of his classic. Mahendran sir was basically a writer first so in this film he showed his best in the screenplay which made this film non boring and stick the viewers throughout this film. The cinematography and music made this film beautiful. The characters were built so good and the artists were chosen fit to that characters, after watching also the characters stands in mind. Emotions handled in good way when expressing love and in sad moments. The best and must watch film.
