Film scores an A+ at film festival

I recently saw this movie at the "dances with films" film festival in Hollywood. It is a timeless story of friendship, love and coming to grips with responsibility and growing up. The movie is fast paced and very funny. The audience at the festival seemed to love it. Jayce Bartok plays the leading character Darren who along with his friends Lawson(Rob King) ,Dan (Daniel Serafini-Sauli) spend an unforgettable night looking for Darren`s girlfriend Monica (Wendy Hoopes). The characters are very believable along with the performances. Also turning in memorable performences are Samantha Buck (judy) and Eric Dubowsky as Jerry. I believe writer, director Paul Kermizian has winner here in a commercial type movie that appeals to the 14 to 25 year old crowd.

    a good rental

I rented this movie from Hollywood Video as part of their First Rites independent film series. It is totally funny, with good acting and a solid story, without being one of those Farrelly Brother wannabe gross out films that everyone seems to be making. Kudos to the filmmakers for having faith in character development and situational humor as opposed to fart and poop jokes. Wait a second, actually, there is one poop joke - and its pretty funny too. But for the most part, the humor relies on realistic situations and human characters and good old fashioned fun. It will also have you calling all your friends "King Tuna", and that's a good thing.

    thumbs up on calling bobcat

I gave this movie a 10. It deserves it. It's a witty movie and its a great movie to kick back and watch with your buds. I think Paul Kermizian did a great job and the Cast were hilarious. I think this movie clearly needs to be advertised. The story line still makes me laugh. I just love how it incorporates Bobcat Goldthwait in the story (hence the name), you know the screaming guy from Police Academy. I'm still cracking up about that. Anyways, check it out, it's a great flick to watch with your good friends.

    Fantastic AFTER-HOURS spawn

Paul Kermizian's CALLING BOBCAT is a wonderful, hilarious movie. Although the film eventually had a point to make, it featured just about every single archetype I encountered when in high school and college, to the T. Furthermore, you'd never know the thing was made for two cents. Congratulations, Paul -- CALLING BOBCAT is a winner!

    Burglar!

The name of the movie that Bobcat drank olive oil to prevent getting drunk was the 1987 Whoopi Goldberg forgotten comedy Burglar! I wonderful and very funny script, Calling Bobcat is a decent first time directing debut from independent film maker Paul Kermizian. Although the direction is slow and basic, the overall story remains funny. A typical Clerks / There's Something About Mary wanna be that makes you laugh from time to time. A decent job, worth watching twice.
