    A cute little short.

The story begins with a girl inviting two men over to her house. Her boyfriend is NOT happy about this, as the other man (James Finlayson) is a cop and he regales her with stories of daring that are amazingly ridiculous. But she insistes she wants a man in uniform, so the boyfriend joins the police force. At first, he's pretty inept and looks as if he'll be a failure, but when he gives chase to go after a gang of crooks, he proves himself to be both brave AND a hero.

This short from Hal Roach Studios stars Glenn Tryon, a guy who was once a silent comic and when that didn't pan out, he made a living working as a screenwriter. While his films never took off, this one is very pleasant and enjoyable. The print is a bit washed out but otherwise it's worth seeing.
