Psycho-sexual drama

A young couple are drawn into psycho sexual world of an older woman, played with languorous grace by Hidemi Hara, who is soon to be married to a rich businessman but really enjoys spending her nights at a sex club and getting it on with drag queens. The younger man is intrigued by her, but the younger woman sees danger ahead and senses that all will not end well, and she is correct.

This film is famous for being the subject of a years long obscenity case, the last one that Japan would see regarding its film industry, and was eventually acquitted.

The Impulse bluray looks great, but contains no extras.

Shortly after the release of the film, director Seiichiro Yamaguchi was charged with obscenity and arrested. Many celebrities and intellectuals supported him, until he was acquitted in 1978. The prosecutor appealed the loss, It went back to trial in 1980, but Yamaguchi's innocence was upheld.
