Widget, the World Watcher

though not the best cartoon ever, the sheer pursuit of finding anyone else in the world who'd seen it was enough to start a cult following. i seriously almost began to believe that i had imagined the whole thing. everyday before school i'd watch it. it used to come on right before Captain Planet. when both shows ended i knew it was time to go to school. where did this show go and why doesn't anyone else remember it?

OMG! I've got the best story about our dear friend Widget! When I was young, I did jazz ballet classes. I went a few times, but every time, half way through the class, I'd ask the teacher the time. When it reached a certain time, I said I needed to go to the toilet. I grabbed my things and ran the 30 second run home, made a peanut butter and jam sandwich, a glass of milk, and sat down to enjoy my Widget the Worldwatcher, and Captain Planet! This went on for 3 weeks until they found out, and canceled my jazz ballet classes (thank god!). I was addicted to those two shows! I was their number 1 fan, and a number 2 fan of SuperTed!(oh, please help me, I almost forgot its name!!!) the show with the teddy bear that was unwanted and became a superhero because mother nature gave him super powers! So, anyway. I do remember both shows, along with superted (does anyone else remember my furry friend?), and just wonder if this will get any replies? You're not crazy. Widget and Cptn P. were the spunkiest spunks around! ~h~

OK, this is so weird, so i'm 24 years old and i use to watch this cartoon also when i was young. i ask all my friends all the time and they say, what was that? i've been looking for it for a long time and i found it on this website. it was a pretty good show. well just wanted to share my little piece of history. oh and by the way i didn't know you had to write 10 or more freakin lines on this website in order to have your comment posted. well there are also quite a few more cartoons that i remember that i wish would still come on. the new cartoons on TV are so dumb and they are making everything too digital. go back to drawing cartoons, they were funnier and better.

Amazing, I been asking people over the years, "do you remember Widget?" and the reply is always no, but I sure do, and because everyone I've asked said no, I also thought I made up the show. I enjoyed the show a great deal, it started my day off right, so I know how you feel, I would watch the show if I could, for sure! I loved IT!!!!

If they had it on TV, I'd introduce it to my children, and watch it with them for sure.

It was a great show! This is my opinon though.

I used to watch Widget when I was in kindergarten, every single day before I left. I loved that show!! I'm the only one out of every single person I know that ever watched it...it's like it just disappeared. I'd watch it if they brought it back!!
