Great fun for all the Pokemon nuts

I purchased this game with some amount of skepticism. I mean, how much fun can it be to take a bunch of pictures? Well, I found out. The interactivity of this game is simply amazing. I love drawing the creatures close with the food or knocking them out with pester balls. The only let-downs are the game's length and the number of pokemon included. Still, this one's definitely worth while for any Pokemon fan.

        DON'T PLAY THIS!

When I purchased my Nintendo 64 Pokemon Snap came with it. Since it was the only game to play at the time "I played it". At first taking pictures of Pokemon seemed kinda fun. Then I got to where I started playing it because I was bored. Eventually I realized that this was a waste of time. If you like to take pictures don't waste your time taking fake pictures of Pokemon, TAKE REAL ONES!

A beautiful experience game that remains modern even today.

A complete experience where you discover a rich and organic world and a game that still sounds modern. Do not admit that some shallow people did not understand the purpose of the game, there are no battles here, you just travel a circiuto on an island that covers the most diverse pokemon biomes if they were real. I repeat this game is a masterpiece despite not being made for anyone. You need to be a lover of photography, game-experience and especially the concept of pokemon being wild "animals" that coexist their way in several beautiful ecosystems.

Very boring video game. One of the worst pokemon games.

        Rated E.

I have played Pokemon Snap a couple of times on a Nintendo 64.There isn't much to say about this game but IMDb says I have to make the review 10 lines so I must. The only thing good about this game is the graphics. The graphics of the pokemon and the environment graphics are simply amazing.Great for Nintendo 64.The gameplay however is boring. You are a photographer and Proffesor Oak asks you to go to this island and take pictures of the different pokemon on the island. You must distract the pokemon by throwing fruit and other things at them.Pokemon Snap is a very boring game that's pretty to look at but not so fun to play.If you want a good N64 Pokemon game play Pokemon Stadium.

Short but very fun Pokemon game

Being a big Pokémon fan back in the day, I had to try this one out. And while it was short and fairly easy, I still loved it. It was one of the most rented N64 games of 1999. I must have rented it ten times back in the day.

You control photographer Todd Snap as he's hired by Professor Oak to traverse across six different biomes on the remote Pokémon Island and take photographs of the indigenous Pokémon. The photos were then graded by Professor Oak by their size, focus, and quality. Depending on the photo, bonus points can be awarded if there's more than one Pokemon in the picture.

Everything in the game looked beautiful for the time. The landscapes, graphics, and sounds truly brought the island and the Pokémon to life. I especially found the backtracking to find new Pokémon to photograph after acquiring items from Professor Oak gave the player the opportunity to explore and discover like a real photographer.

I did have some gripes, though. There could have been more Pokémon, since were only about half the original 151 around at the time of the games release. The games length was pretty short too; I made it to Rainbow Cloud and got a decent photo of Mew after just a few hours of gameplay. Finally, the game's difficulty was lackluster, aside from a few particularly tricky photographs, like Dratini, Gyrados, and Balloon Pikachu being the hardest to pull off.

Anyone curious about Pokemons early video game history who happens to like photography should give this a try on the Nintendo Switch.
