Magus's three generals, Ozzie, Slash, and Flea, are named after famous musicians: Ozzy Osbourne, former lead singer for Black Sabbath; Slash, guitarist for Guns n' Roses; and Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Goofs
The cover art of the box art for the USA Super Nintendo version shows Marle casting a Fire spell, but she cannot do this as only Lucca as that ability. Marle can only cast Ice spells.

Crazy credits
In addition to the two main endings, of which there are two versions, depending on whether you attacked Lavos with the Epoch or not, there are also ten additional endings, most of them light and goofy, that can be accessed by the bucket in the End of Time or Lucca's Telepod, at various points during the game. However, since Lavos is incredibly hard, you should only attempt this with the New Game+ option, after you have beaten the game.

Alternate versions
In late 2008 a version was released on the Nintendo DS that featured new animated clips in the game and some changes in the story.

Happy 25th to this classic RPG!!!

I remember when this was advertised and reviewed that this was a massive RPG with time travel elements. Many stores were sold out of it and the price of the game was pricey. Thankfully I got it as part of a two disc set for Playstation called Final Fantasy Anthology featuring Final Fantasy IV (released as Final Fantasy II for the US release) and Chrono Trigger, in 2001 a year after Chrono Cross became the best selling title in the franchise. Despite the long loading times and frequent fmv cutscenes that looks like something out of an anime, this game has great music, good controls, amazing graphics for the time, and challenging gameplay. The story is pretty simple and there are multiple endings to the game, sorta like before the Witcher changed everything about endings. You can also download the rom if you own the game at your own risk!!!
