I love love love this show! I'm a teenager, and it's one of the few flemish shows we can actually watch with our whole family and with everyone liking it... It's a shame to see so many good characters leave, but they always seem to find new interesting people. I only hope that rumor of Andrea Croonenberghs quitting the show isn't true, because she's really an enormous asset to the show. The duo Pasmans and Raymond are so funny, their really a comic act on their own, big applause to them too. Really, if you speak dutch, or have subtitles in other languages, you should watch the show, it's pure entertainment every sunday night.
Why do people like this so much? It's just another police show where some actors and actresses play the good and the bad. It's said to be realistic, but what city's got so many murders in a month? The actors (and especially the actresses!) are not that good. Their fans, who know them from "Flikken", are fan because they just like "Flikken". I don't really think people would like Andrea Croonenberghs if she wasn't in "Flikken". The whole show is about here, too, when there are way better actors and actresses in "Flikken". If you like police shows, don't watch this one, but try "Crime Scene Investigation" or even "Luifel en Luifel".
This series is the best Belgian production ever. I live in Ghent and we are all very proud on our city. The way this series (Flikken is about a police-department located in Ghent) shows our city to the world makes us all very happy. The series was supported by our own police-department to make it look realistic, and I think those officers did a great job. A few years ago, the name "Flikken" was a negative nickname for "cops" in dutch. Now, thanks to the series, it's considered as a compliment...
I watched the entire series and was captivated all the way through. The stories are good, and the character development throughout the series excellent. You felt that you really got to know the individual characters . I'm sure many viewers at the time when the series were aired thoroughly enjoyed them. Well done, I'm sorry there were only 10 seasons of this.
This is one of the best Belgium soaps!! Really! It has great actors and great storylines. And it's very realistic too.

- TriviaIn the first series of Flikken (1999), Turkish actors Cahit Ölmez and Kadèr Gürbüz star as brother and sister Selatin and Mihriban Ates. In one episode, they are talking about something in Turkish. While Kadèr Gürbüz has a Turkish father, her mother is Flemish and therefore she cannot speak Turkish. Before the shooting of that particular scene, Cahit Ölmez had to teach her how to say each and every word of her lines.
