The story of a milanese daughter born in a true neapolitan family can be probably understood only by an italian audience. However, the movie is not even funny for an italian... cruel, full of prejudice, stereotypes, grotesque jokes, the more you watch it the more you wonder why it has received such an acclaim at major international film festivals.
I've watched this today and found it extremly funny...you need a whole bunch of sense of humor here! Might be full of stereoptypes, but it's so surreal! It's true however that it can only be fully understood by an Italian audience or someone close to Italian culture.
