All together at once.
Mario, Luigi, Fox and more.
Super Smash Bros is still worth playing for old school gamers these days.
If you want something else than the latest shoot em up game play Super Smash Bros.
Giant Donkey Kong vs other Nintendo characters and on with your classic Nintendo Soundtrack.
The game is more fun for multi players.
Some of the mini games are break the targets.
In the fights you will get Poke balls, fire flowers and more.
The game ranks simple from one against one to a big bunch of Yoshi clones.
Give this a go if you like fighting games, or just for nostalgia.
Find this on emulator, or if you are lucky enough find the real thing at the second hand store.

I can't believe the reviews! Its so low. This game is just awesome and there's now word about it. The graphics were okay the gameplay is fantastic (not to mention there's a story but there simply doesn't have to be) and the characters are well chosen and presented. I always thought the next two Smash Bros in the series were more awesome. But I was 100% wrong! When I started playing this Original Smash Bros it simply blew me away! The introduction was unique and amazing and all the characters have so much fun together. My favorite characters are Luigi, Mario, Donkey Kong and Link and all the rest are cool with their own ways. I play this game for so many hours and I get so stuck into it that sometimes I wish my friends will play with me as well. Good work Nintendo! I'm proud to announce that this is the greatest work of art of gameplay you created!
Well, I thought IMDb only does movies, not video games! Anyway, Smash Bros is a great game. Great multiplayer, graphics, but there should be at least 2 characters from each game. (excluding the mario bros and pokemon) My fav character is Link, very high attack, multiple attacks, effects adjacent enemies, good specials but medium speed, and bad jumps. If you play this game again after a year or 2, you'll be addicted to it like crazy for 2 months (like me).
Everyone's favorite N64 characters battle it out where anything goes. The game features the best of Nintendo: Mario, Luigi, Link, Yoshi, Fox McCloud, Pikachu and Captain Falcon. They even bring back the old favorites: Samus and Kirby. They sneak in Jigglypuff as well. It's fun to play as the Nintendo characters in a fighting game, rather than the Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat characters. It's refreshing. This is a great game.
This was one of the most unique fighter games of it's time back in the late 90's. When Nintendo 64 was still a dominate console of the fifth generation gaming era.
What got me in buying this game was the fact that you can play as 8 Nintendo copyrighted characters. Mario, Donkey Kong, Samus, Link, Yoshi, Fox McCloud, Pikachu, & Kirby. As well as 4 unlock-able characters making it 12 to chose from.
Unlike the common fighter games. In Super Smash Bros. you get to use unique items to fight and almost all the fighting arenas are based off of a familiar Nintendo game. Choose either Adventure Mode, VS. Mode, or Training Mode to play in. Actual dialog from the talking characters. Not to mention a few surprises happening during the levels. Each fighter you choose has his or her own unique ability.
There are only a few things available to unlock in the game. But besides the graphics being 64 bit making the background and characters polygon-like. And some of the background character being paper thin. This game is still a classic straight from the N64 days. And has changed the face of multi fighter games for good.
Plus this was Samus' only N64 appearance making it a must have for the Metroid fans.

Did you know
- TriviaPit, a newcomer in the sequel Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008) for the Nintendo Wii, was originally supposed to be an unlockable character in "Super Smash Bros.", but due to the sudden yet enormous popularity of Pokemon, he was replaced by Jigglypuff.
- GoofsNess refers to his magic attacks as "PK" attacks. This is supposed to be "PSI." (The Earthbound games use the term PSI to refer to magic, though an early beta version of the game used PK, and this is probably what caused the error.)
- Quotes
Captain Falcon: Falcon PUNCH!
- Crazy creditsDuring the credits, the credits can be clicked on with the controller, telling what that person does or did in the making of this game. After the credits, the game displays a picture of your character in their environment or cute pictures such as Luigi holding a flag that reads "#1".
- Alternate versionsMany changes were made for the Western version. For instance, the attack sounds were replaced by new ones. The How to Play tutorial is different in the Western version. Luigi's Super Jump Punch and Purin's Rest (if timed correctly) make a "PING!" sound, rather than a "punch" as in the Japanese version. A "Congratulations!" picture is shown if one clears 1P Game in the Western version. Purin's name was changed to Jigglypuff. Also, the Beam Sword had different sound effects in the Western version.
