    Wonderful game

Star Trek Armada takes place both after the Dominion war of DS9 and Insurrection for TNG. In this game you get to play one of four races, the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, and the Borg. The gameplay is similar to most other real time strategy games out there like Command and Conquer or Warcraft/Starcraft.

This game is top quality when it comes to its easy to use interface, highly detailed textures, and wonderful voice acting by Patrick Stewart, Michael Dorn, Denise Crosby, and other regulars like J.G. Hertzler (Chancelor Martok from DS9).

The gameplay is quite balanced between the four races, none more powerful than the other. However there are some racial adavantages that may make one race more interesting to play than another. For example, all Klingon and Romulan ships can cloak, to Borg can assimilate an enemy ship to take it over, etc.

Graphically this game is impressive as well. While the intro movie and cut sequences are pre-rendered, all gameplay, even the beginning of the "episodes" are rendered using the game engine. I recommend a higher end system to get optimal performance with this game. I'm running an AMD K62 550, 192MB RAM, and a Voodoo 5500 AGP with 64MB RAM on the card, and the game runs like a dream.

Its about time that the Star Trek license is being used to make GOOD games for a change, with Klingon Academy and Elite Force.

    Good, but buggy

This is a great game. The one player missions are fun and challenging, and like a lot of games, if you get bored you can download new ships off the internet. These "mods" can add a whole new depth of gameplay. I recommend the Millennium Project mod, while the E&F mod is also worth considering (although it does away with the Borg). One point though. Until I played on Star Trek: New Worlds a few months ago, this seemed like the buggiest Star Trek game in history. Upgrading to Windows ME and DirectX 8.0 seemed to sort this out, but you should make sure you have a decent system. ATI and Voodoo cards seem to work best with it.

    Great Game

This is simply a great game. It is best played when you follow the different formats. i.e. First play as the federation, then the klingons, then the romulins, and finally the borg.

Simply awesome, too bad i have not been able to play much of it lately.

    Great strategy

Loved this game. It is a happy marriage of some of the greatest adversaries in a game- this includes Klingons and Borg! I like that the voices are done by some of the original actors including Picard, Worf and Martok.

The game plays out much like a space-focused cinematic experience. If you like space battle scenes in Star Trek, you'll love this game. There's some great music in the background depending on which faction you play. The story is compelling and typically very Star Trek. I would say this succeeds where the game Star Trek: New Worlds failed and fell flat on its back. Do play this if you get a chance.

    Outstanding story and graphics!

Excellent video game from the introduction video to game finish! The storyline starts after ST:Insurrection and includes surprises from Star Trek: TNG, DS9, Voyager, and TOS. A videocard like the Voodoo 3 or Riva TNT2 is highly recommended for smooth gameplay. This game is a must buy for Star Trek and game strategy fans!
