    The Lieutenant's Last Fight review

Art Acord applies blackface to play an Indian brave who encounters racism as an officer in the army, and then finds his loyalties torn when his tribe launch an attack on the wives and daughters of the servicemen who drummed him out of the force. A comparatively sophisticated tale that marks a noticable improvement in the competence of its director, Thomas H. Ince, and makes a statement about racism at a time when most screen Indians were depicted as murderous savages.
