The work of a genius

This work can hardly be seen as a documentary. During its almost eighty minutes is depicts a very personal view of the twenty century, but this is only an excuse for deep reflections about war, individuality, mankind, progress, labor, in short, life. The work is a patchwork of black-and-white footage, edited and superimposed in such a way that many times one is seeing three, four or more seemingly disparate images... but nothing is random in "Nós Que Aqui Estamos por Vós Esperamos". In some sense it reminds me of Koyaanisqatsy, but if I had to choose one I would immediately prefer "Nós..."; it is closer to human beings and to human feelings. The musical score, by Wim Mertens, is perfect. Unforgettable and wonderful experience to be repeated over and over again. A must have.

Everyone should see

This is a masterpiece adressed to the whole humankind. It took some years to be accomplished, it is closer to perfection in a mélange of images and music, a century in a bit more than an hour. No dialogues, just an invitation to thinking. It's a shame almost no one has seen it. Please do it.

A perfect resume of the 20th century!

Marcelo Masagão did the best thing when he used the money he got for doing a CD ROM and made a movie. Its his first directing job. He made a kind of collage of all the important images and stories of the 20th century. His purpose was to talk about the banalization of death through the wars. The way he chose to do this was astonishing. Stories of anonymous people tied up all the world History, making us really think about what death became to us as humans. A great movie, I hope it becomes part of the obligatory movies list, because it represents our century in a way no other director had done until now. Long live Masagão!
