THE best video game of all time.

Yes, that's right, it is. I firmly believe that the N64 and the weird looking controller were both designed just so this game could be made. It was amazing the first time I saw it, with its huge environments and colorful characters, and its amazing now. The play control is perfect, the graphics are beautiful, and it has that Nintendo charm that is always so intangible but undeniably there. A must have for any N64 owner, and a reason to get an N64 for everyone else.

    A cool Mario game

I enjoyed this game. I did not own it, but it is one of those fun games you can play if you lobe it. The game had good graphics, interesting story, gun levels, and so on. The game does its best to make you have a memorable experience. Even reviews show love for this gem. The levels are creative in their own way and prove you will enjoy yourself against anyone you face. Mario is your man in this game, like always. The controls play put smoothly. The enemies you meet are wimps or require some dexterity. Have fun, you will not be disappointed. Super Mario 64 is jam packed fun and will make you have a lot of fun no matter how problematic things may get.

    My favourite childhood gaming experience.

This game is amazing. Really, you should get it if you don't have it. Although it is ancient now it was amazing when it came out. I believe that this game will always be a classic. It's just as good a Super Mario World or so. When I was young, my friend and I would sit and play this game for hours trying to beat it which we eventually did. It's not nearly as advanced as Super Mario Galaxy, but if you are a fellow Mario fan it is essential. It's fun entertaining and challenging. Everything you could want out of a fantasy game except for good graphics, (well it did come out in 1996.) ROCK ON 4EVA MARIO LUIGI AND YOSHI!!! Nintendo is the best!

    Mama-Mia!

Super Mario 64 is the first game of Nintendo 64, and certainly one of the best games of that console. The graphics are very good for the beginning of the console. The environment is very beautiful, and the characters are very well-made. The game has cool musics.Despite Mario's idiot voice, the game's sound is perfect. The gameplay is good.Mario had many abilities, specially jumping abilities, such as double jump, triple jump, backward jump, wall kick and backward somersault. And the game is one of the N64 games with the most perfect fun factor.Simply COOL! The overalls are:

    GRAPHICS:10/10. SOUND:9/10. GAMEPLAY:9/10. FUN FACTOR:10/10.

My overall for this jewel is 9.5/10.

The Best Video Game Of The Century!!!

Super Mario 64 Is with no doubt the best video game of the century. The 3-D graphics are superb and it's very entertaining and fun! Mario 64 is with no doubt the best N64 game ever. It even has Mario and Peach's own voice. No wonder it's a "Players choice, Best seller".

    • Trivia
When the game was still new and popular, rumors persisted that Luigi and Wario were in the game. These rumors have long been proven false, although those characters did appear in the later port, Super Mario 64 DS (2004). But in 2020, deep in the code someone found Luigi. He is not used or accessible in the game, but he exists in the code.
    • Goofs
When the player talks to Yoshi on the roof of the castle in the courtyard, a spelling error can be seen in Yoshi's dialogue, with the first line of text reading "Mario!!! It that really you???" It should be "Mario!!! Is that really you???"

    • Alternate versions
Remade the Nintendo DS under the fitting title of "Super Mario 64 DS". Released as a launch title in 2004, this game is a complete retooling of "Super Mario 64" from the ground-up, adding 30 new Power Stars to the original game and featuring 4 playable characters (Mario, Yoshi, Luigi and Wario) each with unique abilities and gameplay attributes. Character movement is done with either the D-Pad or the DS's touch screen, and a "run button" is included to make up for the lack of analog control. In addition to a number of new stages being added, most of the pre-existing ones have been retooled in some way with layout changes or new mechanics, and a number of stage missions have been remixed or completely removed in some cases. Other changes include new items and stage obstacles, modified text/dialogue, different camera controls, a detailed map screen for each part of the game, a four-player competitive multiplayer mode, and a collection if minigames made to showcase the DS's touch screen and microphone capabilities.
