    Fun adventure game

I loved Sam and Max Hit the Road! It's such a classic video game that deserves its own franchise in the tv and movie world. It centers on an unlikely police detective pairing of a dog and a rabbit out on the town to fight crime.

The graphics were great for its time. The comedy is dry but also innocent so that children can also relate to it. The characters are endearing in their personalities. They are well acted and the narrative is easy to follow but not simplistic at the same time.

I strongly recommend anyone watch/play this. It's got some great nostalgia for me as I played this well and truly back in the day. But the comedy still hits home even now.

One of the best adventure games ever

I got this game as a part of the first LucasArts Entertainment pack and I had absolutely no idea what it was. But when I got home and fired it up I fell in love. The game, as a whole, is filled with witty and incredibly sarcastic dialog and about a bajillion movie and game related in-jokes.

From the streamlined interface to the entertaining puzzles to such great minigames as Car Bomb and the Max's Wax Coloring Kit this game is a blast to play. If you haven't played it yet, I highly recommend you do. 10/10 on My Personal Scale.

    Classical gem of point'n'click adventure

Detective buddies Sam and Max investigate missing freaks and embark on a nationwide scavenger hunt of tourist traps. Sam the dog is the more perceptive, investigative one, while bunny Max zealously employs muscle wherever possible.

The graphics may not be impressive today, but they were faithfully ported from the comics and made itself at home in the video game medium. The interface is pretty standard for the LucasArts games of the time, and pretty flat by today's standard. The game-play is seasoned at points with mini-games of Sam and/or Max's mad antics in pursuit of The Truth.

But because of the sheer wit, character and zaniness of the dialog, everything is worth clicking, and even the most fruitless actions are rewarding. The banter between the detectives are all quotable, no words are wasted at all. This is a very fun, funny, and memorable game. Get all your friends to play it and you can make character references that will always make you laugh.

    An adventure

I love these point-and-click adventure animated games. LucasArts really deliver with this delightful comedic adventure game. This is the story of two private detectives, an unlikely pair - a dog and a rabbit- Sam and Max. There's a lot of heart in this adventure game and also a lot of laughs to be had. The writing is great and the puzzles that are pretty fun. The characters are quite endearing and the story moves at a steady pace. The animation was pretty great for its time and the game plays out like a feature-length film. The voice acting is pretty superb. It's no surprise they made this into a series.

    Hilarious!

Great adventure game for its time! Full of witty jokes by Max the rabbit, and full of baffling puzzles. This game took me long enough to complete, but I recommend it STRONGLY! 9.5/10!

[after confronting, subduing, and pummeling the mad scientist]

Max: He's not a real guy, Sam! Can I keep his head for a souvenir? Why do you suppose its ticking?

Sam: That's no head, Max! It's one damned ugly timebomb! Let's leave this criminal cesspool pronto!

Max: Good idea, Sam. Maybe we can ditch the head somewhere while the credits are running. Mind if I drive?

Sam: Not if you don't mind me clawing at the dash and shrieking like a cheerleader.

Max: Sam, is "pronto" a real word?
