        The clinging women ....

That's what's the title means ; the ladies in the film stick like leeches ,the actresses overplay to such an extent they are thoroughly unbearable and even the irresistible Betty stockwell cannot play her game well.

Plot :a philanderer has so many lovers he's exhausted ;he longs for a well-ordered existence ,and the only way to get it is to marry;a notary -Henri Garat is not credible at all in this part-,he 's got a clerk who is to conclude his marriage contract in his office ; double-crossing his employee , the notary pinches the fiancée :marriage in sight. But all his lovers ,who were expecting a beautiful wedding too won't hear of it....

It was first a musical ,but there are only two songs left in this stodgy brew : the principal actor was also a singer;Marguerite Moreno ,as the mother who wants to marry her daughter so as to retire in a nice place in the country provides the movie with its only funny moments, particularly when ,during the ceremony ,she answers "I will,I will" before the bride .

        Bomb.
