    Gordon-11

Funny gangster films that does not rely on blood and violence to make it work

This film is about a man in London getting involved with a group of gangsters.

This film, although is a gangster film, is in fact very funny. There are many subtle jokes and one liners in the film, which does make people laugh. The sets in the film are often simple, but it still looks thoughtfully created. The dialogs are very British, which could be an impediment for it to have appeal in the United States.

Jude Law is a gem in the film, his character is memorable and remarkable.

Another notable thing in this film is that, despite being a gangster film, it is not violent or gory. This is a big plus for non gore fans!

    The perfect example

This film was brilliant, although it is capable of having a wide appreciation you need to be British and from London and adjoining areas to really 'get' it. Fans of 'Operation Good Guys' will especially enjoy the humour as I did. The actors are all themselves very good - imitating characters you know in your own lives. It made me cry with laughter in some areas. The areas other people have commented as amateurish are examples of where the actors have 'camped up' ridiculous characters and that's the humour of it all. Unfortunately these sorts of films don't often get made. Really the perfect example of London Humour.

Don't listen to the people who say this film is bad

I saw this film on a whim and I have to say I am glad I did! The cast is brilliant. The plot is simple yet effective and the humour is hillarious!

Frankly, this is the best film to ever come out of the UK bar classics like Monty Python and the Italian Job.

There are so many memorable scenes like the heist where they have all taken viagra, the stabbing in the pub and, of course, Denise Van Outen doing her bit with a cucumber.

What makes this film so good is the sub plots. While the main story ticks along the viewer can also follow each characters own mini story.

Watch it with an open mind though. It is not great cinema but does not pretend to be. Just enjoy the jokes and cast.

Not as bad as everyone makes out.

Firstly I sat and read the reviews on this site for this movie, and decided that this film was not for me. On arriving at the cinema however this was the only film I was able to see, and I was totally surprised. Both my friend and I enjoyed the film from start to finish. Ok, compared to Lock Stock its nothing, but as it is, I found it a very amusing, albeit slow in parts, movie. However to enjoy this movie I would recommend only those with a good sense of humour watch it.

    Love, Honour and Enjoy!

A quick message to Ray Burdis and Dominic Anciano - Ignore the negative comments on here about Love, Honour And Obey. The people who've written them may be lacking in a sense of humour. We can tell that you all had an enormous laugh making this film, and what makes it work is that you made us laugh with you. Not only is it hilariously presented, it has an excellent story and I loved the revivals of Avenues and Alleyways & Fireball XL5!

All I can say is thank you for treating me to an hour and a half of quality British cinema :-)
