The Master Demon

To properly judge this movie, you shouldn't take it seriously at all. It is another example of an low budget fighting movie. If you take a closer look at the movies of Bruce Lee or Jacky Chan (or any karate movie at all), you won't find any bit of reality or sense in there, all "Hong-Kong made" with horrible re-recorded sound. Hellavalot of "punch-punch-punch" and our beloved hero gloriously walks out in the end with some candy-girl by his side. But this movie, (I'll be honest) I did really liked. It has some touch of "bad-humor", watching this movie I kept on laughing, I don't know but it's stuffed with all possible kind of "karate-cliche" which makes it lot's of fun to watch. The "special" effects are adorable, it's fun to see it, it's really is. And all that enthusiastic people involved in this movie, fantastic. I put this DVD into my Comedy section, same reason you can't put "Welcome to the Jungle" to the drama section, do you? So, if you like B-Movies or low budget pictures from the 80's, than this is your thing. It has some nostalgic elements from the 80,s.

An absolute waste of time for everyone involved(or should that be implicated), disgracefully boring, terrible in terms of plot, with characters being introduced, not even given a name, and not going anywhere, chubby cops doing Kung Fu, hilarious dialog ("I'm a private dick") and the worst sin of all, uninspiring fights.

The worst of it is, Eric Lee can actually be quite amusing, see his supporting roles in the first two 'Ring of Fire' movies, but here he proves that a leading man he is not, Gerald Okamura, one of these guys who seems to be a henchman in every martial arts film ever, is wasted as the titular villain with bad makeup.

The story concerns some nonsense about a warrior fighting the master demon, being killed, but not before he cuts off the demon's hand and takes it to a temple where it is stowed away, until the box containing it is displayed at a museum, only to be stolen by Art Camacho(one of the worst directors in the history of history) and all hell breaks loose, with the warrior(possibly reincarnated, it never really says) recruiting the aforementioned chubby cop and 'Private Dick' to help him save the Earth, or space or something, the plot, if you want to call it that, isn't exactly good, or even competent.

A boring, poorly made pile of pish that nobody in their right mind wants to watch.

There´s no words. This film makes TROMA films looks like Citizen Kane. ¿Where is Toxie when we need it? Take care of your hands, avoid the women with too much muscles and protect your eyes from the cheapest Bruce Lee impersonator. I swear that I saw it on TV while I was working

I nearly knocked it on the head after the first 15m. Then I read the reviews and kept it on...

Bad acting, Effects, dialogue, fights...and face ripping (For no reason).

Centuries ago, a White Warrior (Eric Lee) vanquishes The Master Demon (Gerald Okamura) by chopping off its hand, which is taken to a Shaolin temple where it is placed in a wooden box and guarded by a monk. Cut to the present day, where martial artist Tong Lee (also played by Lee, sporting a cropped, mesh t-shirt!) is charged with defeating the forces of evil, who are attempting to restore The Master Demon to full power by reuniting him with his hand. Teaming up with private eye Cameron (Steve Nave) and overweight cop Wayne (with a little help from Wayne's big-breasted Karate girlfriend Jan, played by Ava Cadell), Tong does battle with countless demonic baddies, including a muscle-bound female demon who has been taking style tips from Tina Turner and Cher, before finally facing The Master Demon.

The Master Demon is a total mess, with a terrible script, lousy special effects, awful performances, poorly choreographed fight scenes (in which the stunt-men clearly wait to be hit or thrown), and a voice-over that attempts to add exposition, but which only makes matters even more confusing. It's also incredibly boring for much of its running time, only picking up in the final act, which is so unintentionally hilarious that its hard not to enjoy on some level. For those brave enough to sit through this crud, here are the film's more memorable bits:

A man screaming "No pictures!!!" and then stamping on a woman's camera.

A 'respected business' whose company sign is written in marker pen on a piece of cardboard.

A Mexican restaurant that features quite possibly the worst Latina band in history.

A severed hand scuttling across the floor.

A man with his face peeled off.

Jan romping naked with her portly policeman boyfriend.

Medusa (Kay Baxter Young), the female demon, punching a building, causing it to collapse.

Tong Lee suddenly performing monkey style kung fu (easily the funniest thing about the whole film).
