A great low-budget movie with surprising depth

I saw this film at the Wood Hole Film Festival in Woods Hole, MA. This movie was so low that the directors/stars/writers had a question and answer period afterward. Despite this, the film, about a late night radio shock jock taken hostage is surprisingly well done. The premise may sound like the movie "Airheads" but they're about as alike as Pauly Shore's "In the Army Now" and oh say, "Apocalypse Now." In addition there is a surprise twist handled just as well as the rest of the movie. The writers, who worked formerly at WFNX in Boston, manage to add some good classic rock in-jokes too.

    • Trivia
Much of the shooting and audio post-production was done at WFNX radio in Boston after hours. Many employees and former employees of the station are featured in cameos and as the call-in voices. Also, the final scene was shot in the on-air studio of WFNX during the overnight shift. Filming had to be stopped periodically for the real on-air DJ's breaks.
