Shooting Star

"Shooting Star" is a beautifully shot short sequence of highly-motivated, age-defying middle-aged and older women doing something that many women (or men) half their age won't: playing basketball. The action flows nicely as full speed and slow-motion are combined -- interspersed with brief testimonial by participants -- with a light touch of humor against a background of classical music lending gracefulness and surprising fluidity to something that might otherwise not be thought of as such. Mr. Young is a gifted young director and I look forward to seeing more of his work. I recommend getting a glimpse of this in a short program if you can find it at an upcoming festival.
