Crazy - Um Dia Muito Louco

Increasingly funny tragicomedy, with theater-like overacting (not always good, but Helber Rangel and Helena Ramos are excellent, and, despite irregular, Alba Valeria also provides some gags) and sexploitation elements. The story(ies) is(are) being unveiled while unexpected nonsense and clumsy situations overhelm main character. As Tombalina's sister says: "there are two different women inside her". And both are great! To resume: surprisingly deadly good sexploitation dark humor, one of the best and most innovative "pornochanchadas" (Brazilian genre of softcore comedies from the 70's and 80's)!

Nandinho (Helber Rangel) kills his roommate Teodoro (Fernando Reski) with five shots in the bathroom. When he is preparing to bury him in the backyard, the doorbell rings and an aspirant actress, Belinda (Alba Valeria), arrives and Nandinho learns that Teodoro had advertised a room in their house on the previous day. Nandinho promises to rent the room to Belinda and asks her to leave, but immediately after the pious Bible seller Durvalina (Helena Ramos) rings the doorbell wanting the room. Nandinho promises a space to her in the house but then the next-door neighbor Hugo (Sérgio Guterres) arrives seeking out Teodoro to borrow his camera to lure two college girls and aspirant models that believe he is a professional photographer and have sex with them. Nandinho is interrupted many times and is unable to bury Teodoro, but out of the blue, Durvalina returns and discloses a secret to Nandinho.

"Crazy – Um Dia Muito Louco" is a Brazilian comedy with eroticism and black humor in right doses that reasonably works. The revelations of the deranged Nandinho and Durvalina are funny and the conclusion is suitable to the story. My vote is six.
