Lots going wrong with this short piece. The script has no point the acting is badly directed, the dialog is awkward. Some of the editing choices are decent for a high school production. But this filmmaker obviously has a lot more to learn. Better luck next time.
I was surprised to see such great work from a brave film student who decided not to produce the usual 2 minute clip but to actually develop a story with strong characters. The film is not too serious or goofy, it just has a good time examining a situation that many teens have had some version of. The characters work well and provide a lot of comedy to the simple plot. I can't wait until this one comes out on DVD and look forward to Gauger's next flick.

- TriviaThe title is a reference to Samuel Taylor Coleridge's "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" but the movie was premiered and initially released as "Driven To Guilt" after a majority vote of the producers decided that Neal J. Gauger's original title was too obscure a reference. Subsequent releases have the title of "The Albatross," as per Neal J. Gauger's idea.
