Lipad Darna Lipa.Vilma Santos as "Darna" Gloria Romero As Miss Luna The "manananggal" Celia Rodrigues as "Valentina" a Fashion Model/Snake woman. Liza Lorena as Babaing Lawin. This movie was produced by Cine Filipino In march 1973,this movie was a monumental hit.Vilma santos first Darna movie. Unfortunately this movie was never released on video the original print is missing somewhere in indonisia. I am still trying to find a copy.
I remember vividly growing up watching this movie and hoping that one day, I would get the stone that would transform me as Darna.
I even remember that every time I had recurring nightmares, I would always transform as Darna and would come out victorious in the end.
The best movie I ever remember coming out of the Philippine Cinema, even to date, which solidified my admiration to Ms. Vilma Santos as #1 star of Philippine Movies!
The movie is a trilogy. The Babaeng Lawin episode, although not really "that" bad, lacks better storyline. But the other 2 episodes are more than enough to eclipse what this one lacks in every aspect. Special effects were not even bad considering the tachnologies back then. Hands down, THE BEST DARNA movie of all times!

A monumental movie that separated the mature Vilma Santos from the girl-next-door type roles she made. A wonderful movie to watch. After this Darna Movie, Vilma Santos made another 3 Darna movies. DArna and the Giants, Darna and the Planet women and Darna and Ding. all of them are equally good and big box office hits. Darna and Ding is available in VCD. all three movies are available in the market. if you can not find a copy contact me and i am sure i can help you.
