This was a great film Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi, Anil Kapoor, Kiran Kumar, Pran, Danny Denzongpa, Asrani, Harish Patel, Seema Deo, Satyen Kappu and Kader Khan rock The film had a storyline which would have worked in the 70s but at least it worked in the 90s Sridevi has worked as a cheeky mischief monger and a sensible dancer but in this film she plays twins and pulls it off quite nicely The hospital scene is a highlight Rishi Kapoor didn't play a lot of action roles in his career and should have Vinod Mehra was a better actor than director He would have definitely acted in the film if he was alive This is a good family film with lots of action Its worth its watch!
Why Sridevi wasted? Even in this film she gave awesome comic scenes , which can be kind of cult scenes , this movie will be remembered only for Sridevi's comedy and songs , rest all ignored.
This is a film which I recommend to anyone. It stars Sridevi, Rishi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Laxmikant Berde, Kiran Kumar, Pran and Danny Denzongpa. It is one of those films which the whole family can sit and watch together. The dialogue is good and the acting is brilliant. Sridevi is the undoubted star of the film, and re-confirms that she is the number one actress in the business. Rent this movie out !
Though the film identifies itself as 'Gurudev' in patriarchal honor of its two male leads (Guru & Dev played affectionately by Rishi Kapoor & Anil Kapoor) the film should be called "Rosie" because it belongs-- almost entirely-- to the misfit character of that name played to hysterical perfection by Sridevi. She also plays another character (a pretty stage dancer who is comparatively quite dull) but Rosie is a brilliantly fleshed out comic creation, kind of a cross between Aamir Khan in Rangeela and Lucy Ricardo: she is foul, drunk, deceitful, and constantly looking to find new ways to become rich and famous. Her facial expressions are simply priceless.
The film has lots of action typical of 80s Bollywood (it was made in the late 80s but was delayed to '93 because of the director's death) but its most memorable moments belongs to Sridevi's delicious performance as a vagrant opportunist. Sridevi is just *brilliant*. Definitely recommended.

Though this movie has the one and only Sridevi in a double role, it is no Chaalbaaz, Lamhe or Khuda Gawah. It is a typical story of 2 friends , Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor (the first's son and the latter's daughter are making their debut opposite each other in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya with Salman) and that Sridevi has a double role is probably because both heroes wanted Sri as their leading lady as she was the no 1 at that time and both had hitfilms with her. The movie was filmed in The Netherlands for a part. Part of the movie is like watching Herralal Pannalaal (the one with Randhir and Shashi Kapoor). This was the only movie directed by actor Vinod Mehra (who was a better actor than director)whose daughter is making her debut in the remake of Victoria no 203. Just a fun film worth a watch.
