    Robert Zdar

I wouldn't want to be blasphemous or anything. I do love the Lord, but I also very much love Robert Zdar. Now my friend Robby and I got this movie for two dollars at a Grandpas and we watched it and wow that guy has big old jaw! Suggest not being of sound mind when watching the film. That way the soothing musical score of John Rodriguez can melt your resolve and help you discover what it is to have fun when watching a movie. Plus, this girl gets shot in her boobies and they heal by the next scene. You must see this movie! Go rent him!

    Worst F*****g movie ever!!

It's maybe 15 years since I saw this movie. Only thing i can remember is that it was so damn bad!!! It did not help that half of the movie was censured for some strange reason. Worst ever!!!!

not really a horror movie, not really good either

A young guy from Chicago moves to California to try to become an actor. Crime is so rampant where he moves, a hooker gets her purse snatches by a group of young hooligans, and when she catches one of the boys, she knifes him to death in broad daylight! Cops show up seconds later!

The would-be actor ends up getting a job in a butcher shop, where he and a co-worker like to spit on people's meat for some reason. When he's left alone to wait for a delivery, a blonde runs in asking to hide, as she's being chased by two men. They show up, and in self defense, the actor runs a knife through one, and she buries a meat cleaver in the forehead of the other guy. Now they're on the run.

The blonde is the ex-girlfriend of Manny, played by Robert Z'Dar (Maniac Cop). He's a drug dealer, and she took some of his cocaine and/or his money. I think his gang is called MENZA AKA Fresh Kill; the title came up in connection with him, anyway.

I thought this was a horror movie, but it's more of a action/crime/drama I guess, apart from the people who get killed by the young couple or Manny and his gang. Looked like it was shot on video, but the picture is crystal clear. Can't recommend it at all. Z'Dar's performance is fairly goofy, but not worth seeing.

    Another City Lights Video "winner"...*cough*...

During the mid-80s and into the early 90s, City Lights Video doubled as a production company. With two grunts and a plop, they pushed out a number of homegrown features, not one of which is worth three cents in Hell. FRESH KILL, at least, has the small-beans appeal of featuring B character actor Robert Z'Dar. Here he plays the baddie(imagine that), massacring everyone at any place our hero and his leading lady have just left. The girl, as it turns out, was once his lover...and...I...*think* there's some issue involving some stolen money...but I really can't say for certain because the sound quality is so poor that at various times throughout the movie you can actually hear background foley as clear as a bell, but the actors are moving their lips to an indecipherable garble of near silence. This is an entirely unacceptable flaw in any film...not being able to hear the characters speak is ridiculous. It is for that reason I rate this a 1 out of 10.

One of City Light's fresher views

Again, another one of the City Lights collection. Here an aspiring actor, Chester, who works at a butcher's, no, not as a cabbie, or in a restaurant. He gets into a whole load of trouble with the wrong girl, who's fella, Manny (Robert Dzar, funny as, in this) a big crime lord, whose place is one of grand riches, is after her. This girl has some really weird friends, one of them, a real nutter, who runs a helicopter place, quite philosophical, who remarks about Anthony Quinn and spouts off a number of movies. He's one of them who tries to help them in their quest, as Z'dar's men are quickly moving in on them. Some quite strong violence, like in a shootout scene, and the killing of Chester's parents too. It has a unexpected and sudden finale, where this does one better than a lot of these City Light's films which are pretty pathetic. Chester, who's aspirations of stardom have gone, becomes money hungry with his new girl, dead set against the idea. Afterall it's Manny's money. This makes for good entertainment, but again don't expect too much. One unnecessary scene, has a kid knifing a whore, if you can believe that. Quite a rare find now, this film would be, but good luck.
