      A spectacular independent film

CARESS OF THE VAMPIRE is one of the most well-made low budget pictures ever. The production value is first-rate, and the acting and direction are wonderful. Also, the actresses are all very beautiful and really give life to roles that're usually played by emotionless victim types. The sequel to this, however, isn't as good. Overall, CARESS is scary, sexy, and very nicely done.

A Seductive Symphony of Shadows: "Caress of the Vampire"

"Caress of the Vampire" stands as an opulent masterpiece in the realm of lesbian vampire cinema, a genre that has often been explored with varying degrees of success. In this dark and mesmerizing tale, director Frank Terranova has skillfully woven together a tapestry of sensuality, horror, and forbidden love that transcends the boundaries of the genre, making it a contender for the prestigious Academy Award.

The film opens with a hauntingly beautiful score that sets the tone for the visual feast that follows. The cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking, with each frame meticulously composed to capture the eerie beauty of the vampire underworld. The use of chiaroscuro lighting and rich, velvety colors creates an atmosphere that is both alluring and ominous, enveloping the audience in a world where desire and danger entwine seamlessly.

The narrative, while rooted in classic vampire lore, takes a refreshing and daring turn by focusing on a passionate and forbidden romance between two captivating lead characters. Their chemistry is palpable, and the love scenes are shot with a rare, intimate elegance that adds a layer of emotional depth to the film. The script, penned with eloquence, weaves a tale that explores the complexities of love, desire, and the eternal struggle between immortality and humanity.

The cast delivers stellar performances, with Paulina Monet and Jessica English embodying their characters with a magnetic allure that is impossible to resist. Their nuanced portrayals lend authenticity to the supernatural elements, grounding the film in a raw and emotional reality that transcends the fantastical.

One cannot overlook the costume and set design, which transport the audience to a bygone era of opulence and decadence. The attention to detail is impeccable, from the intricate period clothing to the sumptuous, candle-lit chambers that serve as the backdrop for the characters' clandestine trysts.

"Caress of the Vampire" not only redefines the lesbian vampire subgenre but elevates it to cinematic heights rarely achieved. It is a film that does justice to its themes, offering a thought-provoking exploration of love, identity, and the eternal dance between light and shadow. As the credits roll, one is left with the lingering sensation that they have witnessed something truly extraordinary-an artistic triumph that deserves to be celebrated with accolades, including the grandeur of an Academy Award.

      Lesbian vampires from outer space

Ok, have to admit that the title of the movie is bit misleading. This movie isn't about the vampires as in horror movies, but lesbian vampires having softcore sex with other vampires and humans. There isn't much of the plot, only few narrating sequences between sex scenes, which are pretty nice. However, endless lesbian scenes gets bit boring after first 30 minutes, because those are always between same characters, three gorgeous looking woman. Still, quite entertaining low budget flick, which is made more for people who like to watch Playboy's movies than hardcore vampire movie fans. I would give Caress of the vampires 2½ out of 5, because I like both genres represented in this movie.

Mild Porn Vechicle about Lesbian Vampires

Silly soft-core-porn puff piece about Lesbian Vampires who, seduce neighbors, baffle police, do a strip dance before they kill a victim and crawl around on each other mostly naked. But, this is a film without much story, plot or even what the "Industry(Porn)" calls the 'money shots.' More than enough said on this waste of video storage. Oh, it does have some nice graphics, decent early digital animation (very brief) and the video picture quality is good. But NOTE: the other film on the disc "Caress of the Vampire II" IS NOT A SEQUEL! There are just there together. Roommates not Friends! Also note that the other movie may literally be the worst film ever released to video. A mighty feat in its own right!

      This was about vampires?

It's hard to tell what this alleged movie was about. Since it has the word vampire in the title, and since some of the actresses are wearing fake fangs, I guess it was about vampires. First, there's almost no dialogue in this film, although with the talent pool used, that may be a good thing. Second, there is so little action that it is virtually impossible to determine the story. Third, the girls aren't pretty enough to make for good T&A. What we have with this effort is a series of soft core lesbian scenes, sans dialogue, interspersed with scenes of bungling cops trying to solve a series of vampire murders (which are not shown) and of a woman moving into her new home befriending the vampire. There is some unexplained subplot about the vampires being from outer space, but the only thing we see of the spacecraft is a cute redhead doing an erotic slow dance/striptease for a "human" male. This is actually pretty fair, but there are many Playboy and Penthouse titles around that will show the same thing, without the annoying pretext of being an honest-to-God motion picture. Probably the worst thing about this film is that it was actually followed by a sequel.
