    beatnik trash

Boring. Even for fans of Zalman King's earlier works, this film might be hard to swallow. You have the usual amount of gratuitous sex and nudity, but it's cobbled together behind a strange story of a young girl's druglord family, who grows up to be a blind, pirate radio hostess, telling stories about sex and intrigue. However, logic holes abound.

For one thing, her story-telling follows a beatnik rhythm that, without the video portion, would not make much sense so the only people listening would be insomniacs or those infatuated with her voice.

Also, scenes flash and scream, reminiscent of X-Files or Millennium, adding a very unsettling quality to the imagery. This is a total turn-off because you think less about whether a couple would get together, but whether they would be hideously murdered somehow.

The stories don't really follow each other and just end and begin suddenly, with each lasting maybe 12 minutes or so.

Eric Clapton is known as "slow hands", and Zalman King could be called that as well, except for one important point: Eric Clapton writes good songs.

Blind disc jockey broadcasting in a truck tells the story of three women

This is an excellent movie with great entertainment value. When I saw it recently on Television I was riveted by its haunting melody and compelling content. The actresses were believable and great in the execution of their craft. MS Shawnee William Free Jones especially has a beautiful delivery which kept me in my chair. I recommend this movie to anyone.

    Nice scenario for a dreamworld

The scenario of this film - different stories showing the aspects of a personality - in combination with good sound usage give this film a very fluid and attractive presentation.

Sweet inviting voices give the idea that your conscience is guided to the next part of the story - in an attractive way.

Trauma is hidden in the story. It comes out when the father of the main character surrenders to his daughter's neediness. Father murdered her mother and that had been at the root of his daughter's pain. She did not know he murdered her mother and her doubt made her want the answer. The way the neediness of his daughter came to him is done with an original approach : an illegal radio station.

I reviewed the film several times and every time i liked it better.

    Surprising Good

When I saw the name Zalman King, I thought, "Okay, time for some soft core disguised as art" but this story was surprisingly good. While there is nudity and some sex sprinkled in, it is not gratuitous and is simply an aid to the telling of the stories.

This sexy erotic tale is very stylish and interesting. The music (especially Donna DeLory) and various narrators along with the talented cast draw you into the three stories of love, self-loathing and murder. Everyone is excellent in this picture. More then just it's look but the emotions felt within the stories are so strong and vivid. This one really surprised me.

I'm going to tell my friends at work to give this one a try.

    Sensuous and erotic

This movie is not porn so if that's what you're looking for you will be disappointed. I fell in love with this movie the first time I watched you. It is so sensuous, romantic and erotic. It is a little hard to follow if your full attention is not on the movie and I did have to watch it twice to really get it. But, oh, once you really get it it's so wonderful. This is one of my all time favorite movies. I have looked for this everywhere since I saw it on a movie channel. At first I didn't even realize that it was and "adult" movie. So it's pretty hard to find. I plan on buying this movie because I love it so much. I've seen other things from Zalman King and he really is the master of sensuous, not sexual. There is a difference. He makes you feel hot and gooey. He makes you want to have a passionate, romantic night with your lover. He induces a feeling of passion.
