    Sail on young sailors.

Essentially a chronicle of the life of young men who joined the French Navy , without a real central character. The movie was forbidden by the Germans during the occupation ,hence its release four years later.

The training, the furloughs , the difficulties to adapt oneself to an iron discipline , and a paternalistic captain who helps them finding their way .Jean Pâqi ,who has the more important part, was soon overshadowed ,in terms of popularity ,by Marcel Mouloudji and mainly Daniel Gélin .

Blanchette Brunoy ,one of the romantic female leads of the war years ,provides the love interest .

The story is not really interesting ; its main asset is to show the French Navy before the scuppering.
