Quality Anime!

On one hand, Battle Athetes is a cutesy anime about a group of girls learning about friendship and fighting for one's dreams. On the other, Battle Athetes is a dark commentary about ruthless competition. The story switches between the cute and the scary with ease, which really adds to the series' charm.

I thought the series was great. Video and audio quality is high. Subtitling work was excellent (I haven't seen the dub). The story unfolds at a slow but even pace. Fans of Ranma 1/2 (for example) might give this

SUGOI! A great series, with lots of fan service.

This is the story of a young girl, Kanzaki Akari, who must live up to the expectations of those around her as she competes for the grand title, "Cosmic Beauty" -- the title her mom had achieved quite easily (something that, as a middle child, I can understand...).

The story of Kanzaki Akari features anything and everything that we can poke fun at as well as a severe emotional tug, making this the perfect comedy/drama anime OAV... Highly recommended!
