    Better than usual.

"Rhumba Land" (the correct title) is one of the Universal shorts that came from producer Ben K. Blake's Stable of Shorts Production, which is usually bad news, but the cast of performers offset that.

The headliner is Wini Shaw, who sings two numbers in her intriguingly throaty voice, including "The Lady in Red." Vivien Fay does a dance turn, as does comic-dancer Jimmy Clemons. Darryl Harpa (spelled correctly) and his Orchestra provide the music for all the numbers, including a Rhumba-dance exhibition by the ball-room team of The Theodores (no, not that Theodores--this pair has a "The" in front of their name), and Alfredo Seville & The Singing Charros vocalize a number.

Ben K. Blake's talent roster usually was filled from top to bottom of a bunch of Who-Dats, but Shaw, Fay and Clemons overcome that here.
