If you don't know the Hanzo the Razor films, the plots are random and weird, in a perverse sort of way. This does create a reasonable degree of comedy though. The action scenes are good and generally make up for the unfocused plot.
All this made the first Hanzo movie - Sword of Justice - reasonably entertaining. The second movie - The Snare - largely followed the same template, leaving it less interesting.
Unfortunately, this, the third movie, also follows that template. The plot largely involves government corruption and Hanzo "interrogating" women with his large member (that he trains!) plus the occasional action scene. All been done before, making this movie quite formulaic and predictable.
The big stick, used often in the pursuit of justice, is retired forever.
Katsu was his usual impudent self as he pursued those who would steal from the treasury to lend at usurious amounts to those who could not afford to pay.
The usual amazing swordplay and skill of the big guy was present, along with the blood.
I'm going to miss him.
Overall, I just can't recommend anyone sees these violent and misogynistic films. However, from looking at the other reviews, I can see that they are still very popular...and that is pretty scary. Despite some decent acting and amazing fight scenes, the films just are like brain pollution--and I'd hate to imagine how the films might have contributed to violence towards women.
Worst of all, this finale rivals Godfather III for the title of worst sequel dropoff on either side of the Pacific. I'd hoped for him to exit on a high note both morally and aurally, with the latter coming from a satisfied partner. This one ends with a bang that manages to be a whisper.

Mamushi: Yeah, her face...
Hanzo 'The Razor' Itami: I want to make love to a ghost once.
Mamushi: To a ghost?
Onibi: Are you serious?
Hanzo 'The Razor' Itami: A man would like it once.
Onibi: Do you mean it?
Hanzo 'The Razor' Itami: A ghost would have a cold body. I bet it'll be pretty tight down there.
