Overall good game but lacking in some areas

The game play is decent and once the keyboard quick-keys are memorized it is easy to play. It lacks the great detail of its sequel, "TIE Fighter" but is nonetheless a fun game. The graphics are quite pixelled and the game moves slowly if having to travel a great distance to reach the goal. There are many problems if trying to play from Windows so you must be somewhat DOS literate. Fine play for slower computers, it only requires a 486.

Goofs
The game features the TIE Interceptor prominently in early missions and also depicts several TIE Advanced fighters attacking the player at the Battle of Yavin. In Star Wars canon, the TIE Interceptor was a prototype designed after Yavin, specifically to deal with Rebel starfighter attacks on larger ships and stations like the Death Star, while the TIE Advanced was Darth Vader's personal unique ship and was not mass produced until well after the events shown in the Star Wars film.
