    Not the usual plot.

CFF films usually revolve around baddy adults being outsmarted in a variety of amusing ways by the children, but not in this one. With the none too bright bad adults for the children to do battle with missing from this film it was one of the less enjoyable CFF efforts. The child actors were below par also which didn't help. One of the few CFF films that I can't recommend watching.

    A Welcome in the Hills

Although the title highlights Canada, the only feature film made by former documentary director Kay Mander just before she started out on her later career as continuity girl and script supervisor is more properly a travelogue shot in Scotland.

Despite having an authentic Canadian for a pop (who's also in the film), young Christopher Braden actually comes across as as polite and well-behaved as all the other nippers he's supposedly rubbing up the wrong way as an annoying colonial until (SPOILER COMING:) naturally his heroism in a crisis eventually saves the day and wins them all over. The End.
