Very good movie, unusual story line for this day and age!

Mr. Ritter, Ms. Baxter and the cast gave life to subject matter which often gets lost in this day and age. The moral and "there is a purpose to things" aspects of the film were very refreshing. There should be more like these - congratulations to CBS and everyone involved!

A perfuming, solitary flower in the midst of refuse!

I entirely agree with the comments dated 29 March 1999, both from USA, about "Holy Joe". I watched just today, by chance, this TV-movie, which has been superficially translated in Italian as "L'uomo dei miracoli" (i.e."The Miracles' Man"!). It quickly captured my disechanted attention and - scene by scene - I discovered a work of great delicacy and intimate signification. With regards, Riccardo

    I wrote it

I am the guy that wrote the picture. The director, Larry Peerce, directed "Goodbye Columbus." I don't think that I can really give an objective view of this movie. I love everything I write. It took us four years to get the networks to agree to do this. In Hollywood, anything with a positive spin on religion is automatically suspect. CBS seems to be the only network that is willing to do things like this.

I also have written other films and a memoir. If you want to know more, please visit my homepage

    Horrible writer.

Here's a lesson to the writer: Themes that are handled clumsily or are too on-the-nose can come across as preachy or insincere. Subtlety and nuance in exploring themes can make for a more impactful and thought-provoking movie.

Characters that lack depth or uniqueness can be forgettable and fail to resonate with the audience. Good writing involves creating well-rounded characters with distinct personalities and motivations.

In summary, what makes a bad movie writer is not just a lack of technical skill, but also a failure to engage the audience with a coherent, original, and emotionally resonant story. It's about striking the right balance between all the elements that make a movie memorable and satisfying.

    An Awesome Movie!!!

As a Christian I can say that this movie really touched me. It was a wonderful and inspiring film which every Christian and non-Christian should see. It gave a wonderful message about faith in God and how we can all be saved by Jesus' love and grace...I highly recommend this film!!! :)

David Cass: You got a light?

Joe Cass: I thought we agreed you wouldn't smoke.

David Cass: No, you agreed I wouldn't smoke. You and Ann.

Joe Cass: Her name is "Mom."

David Cass: No, her name is "Ann." Her title is "Mom." As in, the "Mom and the Dad."

Joe Cass: Well, the "Dad" and the "Son" have things to talk about.
