The game played by the boys is called "számháború" (number war in English) is a popular summertime camp game in Hungary mostly played in the woods. It is a playful way of learning high-digit numbers for younger children. Players of the two opposing "armies" are given a paper card each, with a (mostly) 4-5 digit number written on it, which has to be attached to their foreheads with a rubber band. During the "war" itself, members of the opposing groups have to read out loud the opponents' numbers, when successful, the player "dies" and has to leave the game. The goal is to read out as much of the opposing team's numbers as possible while keeping our team "unharmed".
