To the comment bellow. I'm Danish myself, and we are not at all racists. The film is very ironic, something we Danes are allot. I completely understand that you were repulsed by the use of the word(s), but his role was very ironic. If you are interested in understanding the Danish humor, I can definitely recommend Adams Apples (Danish title: Adams Æbler). I just thought that I would make it clear that Danes are NOT racists. I think it's a great movie, showing great values of life, so I'm sorry if You can't see anything else that the racist punchlines. I find that both Sidste-Babett Knudsen and Niels Olsen does a phenomenally great job in this movie.

Maybe this film is not the greatest danish movie ever made, but it sure is funny. Around the cinema people was laughing at all times, when they once in a while got hit by something they recognised. And then once in a while there was a one liner, that made the whole cinema laugh. When you leave the cinema, you can't help it - you're happy and you believe in love, and it's capability to make everything right. Cliche? yes but isn't lovely once in a while to believe, that somethings in the world, can make all the wrongs to rights?
I haven't heard a danish film being discussed and laughed at among friends and work companions, as this movie. Not even the dogme-movies!

Will the wonders never cease? First Denmark introduces a long line of Dogme films, many of them better than anything out of Hollywood, and now they have developed a talent for romantic comedies as well? If someone had told me 10 years ago that this would happen, I wouldn't have believed them.
This is a wonderfully warm and funny movie. It's great to see Niels Olsen in this type of role, not playing his usual wacky roles but instead a romantic lead - yet another surprise. And what can I say about Paprika Steen - she's fast becoming one of my favourite actresses, Danish or otherwise. What a comedic talent!
I recommend this movie to anyone who doesn't mind subtitles - comedy is a language in itself.

I was somewhat reluctant when my girlfriend wanted me to see this film with her, because danish comedies has not been that funny in the last last pair of decades!
BUT, I must admit that I was very glad to discover, that this comedy was very funny indeed!
The leading female actor Sidse Babett Knudsen is giving a great performance! (She was btw also great in the movie 'Let's get Lost')
All in All : Good Entertainment!

Truly appealing and funny romantic comedy from Susanne Bier with a star-making performance by Sidse Babett-Knudsen in the lead, Niels Olsen in his most appealing role to date and great support from Lars Kaalund, Sofie Gråbøl, Søs Egelind and Paprika Steen. Too bad that Sonny (aka Andrea) the Italian guy is such a caricature, but that´s a minor quibble for this feel-good movie which also happens to be beautifully photographed (especially when compared to the Dogme 95 films). The soundtrack was almost as big a hit as the movie. *** (of ****)
