Fair, but little known early British comedy

"Women Who Play" is a 1932 British comedy based on a 1925 play by Frederick Lonsdale, titled "Spring Cleaning." Richard Sones (played by George Barraud) is jealous of his wife, Margaret (played by Benita Hume). He thinks she may be having an affair or about to. So, he devises a plot to shock her back to her senses. He hires an actress to live with them, with comedic results.

This is a decent British comedy made by Paramount's British studios, but is among many from the early sound years of film in England that are rarely shown or scarcely available. Except for Benita Hume, the leads were little known with small numbers of films.
