Sachin Pilgaonkar and Ranjeeta Kaur in Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978)
Arun and Lily met in classroom for the first time. Arun (Sachin), the only son of a Barrister father, stood second in the exams to Lily Fernandes (Ranjeeta), a shy, simple, modest girl - the daughter of an ordinary nurse in a private nursing home. The shock of the defeat was too much for Arun, and he took up a challenge - even nursed a personal vendetta - to bring down the growing popularity of Lily in the college. Lily, however, bore no malice against him. She even tolerated all the sarcasm and nasty pranks of the close chums of Arun.
As time went by, Arun and Lily started admiring each other's qualities. One day, Arun's father walked in to the Fernandes house with a proposal for marriage between Arun and Lily. The happiness of the young lovers knew no bounds. But when everything was nicely set up for a happy ending, suddenly, Lily falls ill. Blood culture test proves the case to be Leukemia. No effort is spared to arrest the disease, and save the poor girl. But will Lily survive? What happens next?

Rajshee were master of simplicity...and so this movie was...a cute and so emotional love story that I dont think we can compare with any other love story...I did not like Sachin till this movie but now I am a fan of him after watching this one...and Ranjeeta is adorable and so cute...story was so simple but powerfull...and what to say about music and songs...simply outstanding...title song sung by hemlata mam was mesmorising...this movie always brings tears to my eyes whenever I saw it...this movie is a big lesson to now a days movie which have no sense but only vulgarity....

    An Exceptional movie

This is movie which had good comedy, romance and emotions. This is one of the best Hindi movies. The songs are superb. The story is entertaining & true to life. One can't take anything for granted. Live the moment you have to the fullest extent you never know what will happen next. True to the title song.

I wish Hemlata had gotten more opportunities to sing more songs. The title song is among the top 10 best ever romantic songs.

Though this is a 70's movies, it applies to current times too. It has a light beginning of college life, competition, fights, romance, and a great anti-climax.

    Awesome movie with classic story

An awesome hit movie of 1978 where audience gets bound to the movie forgetting all other things. All people will relate to there college life of competition. Lead characters are excellent.Poignant portrayal of Lily Fernandez is beautiful which also received a nomination for best actress at Filmfare. The chemistry between lead pair is fantastic. Both are fascinating.Initially fighting with each other ending up in romantic duo. They travel to beach, each other's house, park together on weekends.Comic timing by Mehmood junior is also good.Lily(lead) is suffering from leukemia but hides the fact from Arun who overhears this news from his father and Doctor. He goes to Lily to make her smile. They both travel to same places and rejuvenate.Lily's condition gets better but then deteriorates. Will she survive?

The songs are classic and phenomenal. The title is sung by Hemlata. The nomination at filmfare proves this.

    Unique Indian Movie

Original Indian romance can be watched in Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se ( Through the Eyelashes (1978) ). Starring Sachin and Ranjeeta, this movie is simple, but for all people except children. This is also a educational movie because one can learn some guiding principles. This is a super hit movie of 1978 and one of the best Indian movie of 1970s.

It's a classic example of Simplicity and true Love. Acting of Sachin and Ranjeeta is awesome. Madanpuri and Urmila Bhatt also done marvelous Hib. Above all, Iftikhar is an All time top class although had lesser to do here but have done justice to his role. I got an idea to watch it theu it's Wonderful Title song which us one if my favourites. Blood cancer was incurable by then. Efforts of everyone are praiseworthy. It deserves 9 out of 10.
