    Every cliche in the book

This movie about a man on the run for killing a mobster is the kind of film you can watch entirely on fast forward, once you know who's who, and not lose a thing. It has an attractive cast but the plot is a virtual writer's guide to cinema cliche, and boy does the dialogue clunk!

    Could be a cult movie

Since I'm only the sixth person to comment on this excruciatingly awful film, I've read and recalled the five previous critiques.

Sadly, the reviewer from 1999 has learnt that Michael Sutton will never "..be the next Johnny Depp"! In fact he no longer appears in films and has not done so for many years. Oh, and the same reviewer asserting this was a nice clean family movie must have missed the steamy sexual encounter in the opening credits!

I think the remaining four reviewers were spot on in describing 'Wanted" as contrived with characters who served merely as stereotypes. I thought the acting was quite mediocre which made the contrived plot even more obvious.

However, this could actually develop a following as a cult movie because with repeated viewings I'm sure many will be entertained with the multiplicity of gaffes, ludicrous plot moves and the banalities in the script and characterisation.

Frankly, I'm very surprised that I was able to watch this movie in its entirety.

Not like most films I've seen................

For the most part I should say that Micheal Sutton (Jimmy Scrico) is an actor that I've admired since his days as Stone Cates from General Hospital. First of all he is one of the reasons why I viewed the film. In my personal opinion, I feel that Micheal did better than the rest of his cast mates. I was completely taken in by that smile and charm his character displayed. I, for the most, enjoyed Wanted and I'd watch it again.

Not As Bad As I Thought It`d Turn Out

This opens with the company credits informing us it`s by World International Network . I knew I`d seen this company credit before but couldn`t remember where , but knew it was at the start of a really bad movie I`d seen so I seriously thought about changing channels , only thing was I`d seen every film on the other channels which is one of the problems of being an IMDB reviewer . What the hell I thought it won`t really matter if WANTED is good or bad because I`ll still be able to review it for this site.

As I expected WANTED wasn`t all that good . It`s a plot I`d seen so many times ( Too many times ) before involving a fugitive on the run , a bit like THE INCREDIBLE HULK TV series without the shirt ripping . Jimmy crosses the mob in an entirely contrived way and goes on the run and in an entirely contrived manner finds himself working at a catholic reform school . Have you noticed an oft used description in the last sentence ? " Entirely contrived " is the answer . Let me repeat for the hard of thinking that this is an entirely contrived film where everything relies on coincidence . Another problem I had was the reform school run by the church - it`s far too compassionate and kind , I`m led to believe these type of establishments make Alcatraz look like a country club , I`m saying this is a fact but when the head priest looks like the spitting image of Donald Rumsfeld you do feel there`s a large amount of sugar coating going on .

To be honest despite the ridiculous plot twists etc WANTED isn`t really a bad thriller though it`s a terribly good one either . I never really had the urge to switch it off no matter how contrived it became which is an under hand compliment to the movie

    Terrible . . . but unintentional fun.

Pretty terrible, but not entirely unwatchable. Another review mentioned "predictable" - and that's almost an understatement. You can make a game out of guessing what the next line will be. Every character is either stereotype or archetypical. The good guy in a bad situation, the struggle between older and younger priest on acceptance and discipline, the repressed, sexually/emotionally deprived woman returning to the small town after failing in the big city, engaged to the hotheaded, feeble minded beau from youth, the unredeemable bad guys, two "lost boys" looking for a sense of family - they're all here, and none of them with even the remotest spin of something new. From the first few minutes you can figure out exactly what will happen by film's end. The story isn't entirely lame, but direction, acting (even from a cast with some talent) everything is thrown together without skill. As to the storyline, we've all seen it before in a movie called "Sister Act." This is also one of those films where inattention to small details show up in an even more glaring light. (As example: the nurse and our hero drive into town but park several blocks away from their destinations (post office and hardware store) - yet both walk across empty parking lots for no apparent reason. Or the passage of morning to night during a scene that seemingly should occur in no more than half an hour. The movie is filled with that kind of stuff and then tags on an improbable denouement.
