Are They Really Trying To Help Him?

When the radio announces that, it being Friday the 13th, all black cats will be taken to prison, mice Hickory and Dickory try to help hide Doc. Or maybe they're taking the opportunity to torment him, using the enormous bulldog at their house in the attempt.

I'm sure there were other installments in this Walter Lantz cartoon series. Lantz had started with one star, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, originally a Disney property, and spent the next decade trying to come up with more stars. Andy Panda was a reasonable success, but he hit it big with Woody Woodpecker.

The result here is an ok cartoon, with plenty of violent gags rendered amusing by the lack of reality of the background art and simplicity of character design.
