    Great filmmaking given the budget

I mainly watched this because I had read an article about the female protagonist in an admittedly strange mag (Bizarre). My expectations were as low as they possibly could be so maybe that's why I enjoyed so much what I saw... The story's an entertaining and fresh go at an ever so well known theme (vampires) but what really makes this movie worth watching is a) the fact (?) that the entire cast really seems to have had great fun while doing this and b) that the visuals are just what they ought to be given that the makers didn't have a Hollywood budget. Amateurish at times, it is convincing enough for what it is - a cheap but fun vampire movie with lots of teeth, bites and blood. All I can say is that I great fun for an hour and a half. I wish I could say similar things about some lame but big budget movies like The Matrix or the like. Watch it and make up your own opinion. My bet is you won't regret it.

low budget vampireflick but an instant cult-classic

Well, Razor Blade Smile obviously is a low budget horror/action flick. But seeing Eileen Daly as her alter ego Lilith Silver is something to tell your friends about. It won't be long before they knock on your door to see this cool white face with red lips and impressive fangs. Razor Blade Smile is a small production so don't expect mega-special effects by the ILM boys but some nice camera-angles, a few colouring filters in the right place and wildly edited actionscenes. The acting, though not very impressive sufficiently reflects the fun in making this movie. Don't take it too seriously, the actors don't so just enjoy 93 minutes of popcornfun. Razor Blade Smile is destined to be a cult-classic, amongst Vampiremovie-lovers it will raise a brow but that will be amply compensated by buckets full of blood. Cheers.... Decent independent vampire flick.

I know(after reading some reviews on this page)that most horror fans don't appreciate the value of this film and call it trash, but they don't know what they're talking about.OK,I admit that the story is pretty lame and the acting is also rather bad,but "Razor Blade Smile" is sexy, gory and highly entertaining bloodbath.Eileen Daly, who plays a fanged assassin Lilith Silver, shines in her first leading role.Man,she is hot!Oh,and there's also a blood-soaked lesbian scene that would make Jean Rollin proud. The late David Warbeck(Lucio Fulci's "The Beyond"),who sadly died after making this film is another reason to watch "Razor Blade Smile".Plenty of sex, violence, blood and macabre humour, but the ending is kinda' lame.So if you like vampire flicks, you could do a lot worse than this.Recommended!

    Cheerful fun

Yes, the acting is broad (I think this is deliberate), and not all the characters act logically, but it was fun. Gorgeous women (I really can't judge as to the men in this film), blood and guts, sex and kink, interesting art direction, plot twists, and the good time enjoyed by the cast transmitted into my living room.

I have always thought that Bram Stoker was a shill for the "real" vampires, providing false information about their abilities, weaknesses, and what would be fatal to them. This movie gives a much better story for these things, although there are a few analogies to other movies and TV shows which shall here remain nameless. If/when I write a vampire or werewolf story this film will be an inspiration to me.

I love the locations, too, especially the manor for the beginning and ending, and the rock formations for the hostage resolution. And London, of course, is London.

Overall I enjoyed this; if you have a sense of irony you will too.

A different take on vampires - quite good...not brilliant!

Whether or not you'll like this depends on how seriously you intend to take it. I found it funny (in a tacky kind of way). It had some neat ideas which weren't used as well as they could be and some very good scenes. The acting was okay - if a bit iffy at times - and the special effects were nothing to write home about. If you take vampire films seriously then it's not for you. But if you take them with a pinch of salt you'll probably enjoy it!
