The Justice League facing a foe that copied their powers is a common one. The most well-known of these characters was Amazo, which wasn't animated until the second season of the Justice League (2001) TV series in Tabula Rasa: Part 1 (#2.3). A short period of time before "Darkseid... of the Moon!" was produced, the No Honor Among Thieves/Mr. Mxyzptlk and the Magic Lamp (#1.3) episode of Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show (1984) features Lex Luthor stealing the super heroes' powers with Darkseid's help.
