Married for more then 2-3 years. Watch it.

Wonderful dialogues and performence. Must watch for couples. Engaging and very real. Experiential cinematography and edit. Very very Relevant. Simple and touchy.

      Boring - Great for insomniacs.

Aavishkar has done something that no other Bollywood film has ever been able to do -- put me to sleep. I will be totally honest - after forcing myself to watch the first 50 minutes of 90, I could not take it any more and could not care how the film ended. I knew enough that I could not get that 50 minutes back. Rajesh Khanna won a best actor award for this film but I would hate to see the competition. It seemed like he sleep walked through most of it and was literally in bed, half asleep, had headaches and irritable except when he remember how happy he was during the first year of his marriage. This film was supposed to be "artsy." Meybe whoever put it together should have gone back to the drawing board.

      Marriage story "

It's depicts beautifully the relations of a man and woman. Rajesh Khanna and sharmila tagore's acting is must watch. In some way it is little boaring , but it's essential to show a serious issue in a serious manner. No doubt Basu Bhattacharya direction is spectacular.

Great acting and great chemistry between Rajesh and Sharmila

This is really a beautiful movie. Rajesh Khanna's portrait of a married man after having a kid is right on the money. He looks gorgeous as usual but his acting just blew me away. Sharmila and Rajesh do have a certain chemistry and they are so at ease with each other that nothing feels out of character. Granted, the poems tend to get heavy ( specially the last one with sun and earth) but Rajesh's melodious voice keeps haunting you. Absolutely loved the movie. The background music adds to the story. The end is so touching and so real almost made me cry. Would recommend to almost everyone over 18, not a story to be understood unless you have been in love and in a relationship!

Absolutely classic - an important and complex topic shown beautifully

The main plot and theme of the movie is that lovers think they are perfect and life after the marriage will remain beautiful but marriage brings out totally a different character of both boy and girl. Life is not the same after marriage. There is a dialogue at the end of the movie which pretty much conveys the story theme - Kal main premi tha, aaj ek pati hoon(I was a lover yesterday but today I am a husband).

It's the story of Amar(Rajesh Khanna) and Mansi(Sharmila Tagore) who are in love and are married but life after the marriage is not bed of roses for them.

Basu Bhattacharya has done a remarkable job by bringing out such complex topic and dealing with it so beautifully. He calmly narrates you the story of Amar and Mansi. Their love, their fight and their drifting apart, all of them are shown beautifully.

There are some interesting dialogues throughout the movie which actually touches your heart. Like there is a dialouge which Mansi says, Why does people hate love so much(Log pyar se kyun itni nafrat karte hain)? It makes you think and the characters forces you to think about their issue and relationship.

Some scenes actually leaves a lot of impact. It's Rajesh Khanna's sheer genius which reflects in the movie. Most probably his one of the best performances . The way he delivers dialogue with full conviction is superb. His characters has two layers, one is calm and composed and never afraid of doing the right thing. Another layer of his character is when the couple start drifting apart. And both of the layers are shown beautifully. It's actually a Rajesh Khanna's movie.

Sharmila Tagore is simply brilliant. She is always so expressive, even with her eyes.

You feel you are there with both of them, the story greatly connects with the audience.
