Anupam Kher and Suresh Oberoi were involved in a altercation while filming. Suresh Oberoi was a big star in those days and was very arrogant. One day Anupam Kher was sharing the same dressing room as Suresh. Suresh was sitting on a chair with his leg stretched out on a young man's lap. The young boy had just tied Suresh Oberoi's shoe lace. After the boy was finished Suresh kicked the boy very hard sending flying across the room. Suresh yelled at the boy for tieing his laces too tight . A young Anupam Kher got up and picked the boy up and told Suresh Oberoi what he had just done was not right . Suresh asked Anupam who the hell he was and what did he mean by "not right". Suresh explained he was putting up with this assistant for the past 10 days. He told Anupam that if he felt so bad for him he should take him. Anupam did just that and hired Dattu Sawant for over 35 years as his assistant .
