The classic office comedy series from late 70's, early 80's!

Way before the very popular Office series (UK/US) there was De Collega's late 70's, early 80's. A Belgian Tragicomedy series that lasted for 3 seasons between 1978 and 1981. Because of the success there was 1 movie De Collega's Maken De Brug in 1988 made. Characters were well thought out and hilarious. Some drama but the focus is on the humor and friction between the characters on their job. Very funny at times and amusing series. Very well made!

Classic Belgium TV Series

These series belong to the collective memory for the Flemish people, a soapopera which portrays the life of government office workers in Belgium. Each character does remind you of somebody in real life, and anyone who has ever worked in a state office, will certainly laugh out with the situations: boredom, bureaucracy, hierarchy, and the small protest and little life's from your fellow slaves.

Certainly the best tv-serie that Belgium ever produced.

One motion picture was made as about (roughly) the same characters starring the series cast: Kollega's maken de Brug, De (1988), essentially a double-length episode. Note the different spellings of the keyword (meaning "colleagues"), but in Dutch there were two officially codified alternatives for many words, mostly involving a few sounds such as K.
