The plot involving the love triangle had problems with the Federal Censorship which banned the theme of female adultery. The Public Entertainment Censorship Board ('DCDP'), the official censorship body during the Brazilian military regime between 1972 and 1988, recommended that the character request a divorce because she could not fall in love with another man while still being married.
