The concert was held in honour to celebrate the work and life of three of India’s biggest Legends: R. Amit and Sumit Kumar performed yesteryear hits such as Yeh Shaam Mastani, Zindagi Ka Safar, and many more, taking audiences on a walk down memory lane.

India's first superstar Rajesh Khanna who has acted in numerours films, now gets a tribute in the form of a film memorabilia in the capital city. The show, to be held, at the India Habitat Centre in Delhi, will exhibit some of the greatest films starring the veteran star.

The show will have posters, lobby cards of his solo hit films in between the period of 1969 to 1971 along with others. Elaborating on what will be featured in the exhibition, Sumant Batra, museum curator and philanthropist who has put together the film collection, stated that there will be about eighteen original posters of the superstar, about two dozen lobby and show cards, song booklets and vinyl records. He added that along with the poster of his debut film Aakhri Khat, the other posters will be from the collection of some of his most iconic films like Anand, Aradhana, Safar etc.

Bikas Mishra’s drama Four Colors (Chauranga) earned the grand jury prize for best feature as the 13th annual Indian Film Festival Of Los Angeles (Iffla) concluded on Sunday.

The best actress contest was a tie between Kalki Koechlin for Margarita, With A Straw and Shweta Tripathi for Haraamkhor.

Best actor was also a tie for the young brothers J Vignesh and Ramesh of The Crow’s Egg.

The festival showcased 25 features and shorts overall and ended on Sunday with the Us premiere of Nagesh Kukunoor’s Dhanak (Rainbow).

The grand jury prize for best short was presented to Dandekar Makes A Sandwich directed by Leena Pendharker.

In the audience awards, The Crow’s Egg was named best feature, Tomorrow We Disappear best documentary and Journey (Safar) best short.

Rajesh Khanna, fondly known as Kaka in the film faternity, began his career with "Aakhri Khat" in 1966 and in a career spanning five decades, he became a superstar like no other with hits like "Aradhana", "Do Raaste", "Safar" and "Anand".

Between "Aradhana" in 1969 and "Prem Kahani" in 1975, he enjoyed god-like status. The frenzy was such that women would line the road for a glimpse, chant his name, cover his car with lipstick marks.

The Directorate of Film Festivals (Dff) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a three-day retrospective of Bollywood's first superstar, Rajesh Khanna, as a tribute to the cinema's legend who died of a prolonged illness on July 18. Rajesh Khanna was 69 years old. The event was held for three days at Siri Fort auditorium in New Delhi. The retrospective screened some of Khanna's landmark films such as Aap Ki Kasam, Aradhana, Amar Prem, Kati Patang, Ittefaq, Avishkaar, Bawarchi, Safar and Anand. Inaugurated on August 18, the retrospective was followed by the screening of Aap Ki Kasam on Day 1. Rajesh Khanna's wife Dimple Kapadia was the chief guest at the event and was accompanied by her younger daughter Rinkie. Dimple also thanked the Dff and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for giving a chance to relive his memories.

A Retrospective of late superstar Rajesh Khanna will be organized from August 18-20, 2012 at Sirifort Auditorium II, New Delhi.

Entry is free, on first come first serve basis for all screenings and panel discussions.

This Retrospective is being organized by the Directorate of Film Festivals and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Inauguration of the programme will be on August 18 at 12:30 pm in the presence of Choudhary Mohan Jatua, Minister of State (I & B), Rajeev Shukla, Minister of State (Parliamentary Affairs), Dimple Kapadia, actor and wife of the late superstar and Om Prakash, producer and director.

Aap Ki Kasam (1970) directed by Om Prakash will be screened after the inauguration.

Legendary actor and director Feroz Khan died late on Sunday night in his Bangalore farmhouse. He was 70.

The actor had been diagnosed with cancer over a year ago. Feroz Khan directed and produced successful Hindi films such as Dharmaatma, Qurbani and Jaanbaaz.

The last film he starred in was the blockbuster hit Welcome in 2007. He is survived by his son Fardeen and daughter Laila.

Feroz Khan was born and brought up in Bangalore. He made his debut as second lead in Didi (1960). His first big hit was in 1965 with the release of Oonche Log.

He produced, directed and starred in the 1975 -77 film Dharmatma which was the first Indian film to be shot in Afghanistan and was also his first blockbuster hit as producer, director and actor.
