The funding and financing of this film ''was something of a mini-scandal'', according to the 'Oz Movies' website, ''with questions asked about bureaucrats and insiders.'' The site states: ''The film was fully funded by the AFC [Australian Film Commission]. At the time the AFC guidelines didn't allow for the filming of live shows, so the film was hastily dressed up as a comedy documentary, when in reality it was the record of a live show.''
